nicolai fechin was a russion born impressionist who emigrated to the us in the early part of the last century. i adore his work, and attempted to copy "the balinese girl" as an exercise for one of the artist forums i belong to. this is the drawing with some block-in.

I'd never heard of Fechin--I'll have to look him up, because I love Impressionism.
