a woman at the library gave me this rose to paint when she saw the painting books i checked out, and i remarked on the roses displayed on the counter. she grew them, and has offered to cut me a bouquet as well. so nice! oil on linen, 9x12"
i believe i found a versatile red that will create oranges and purples! it's gamblin quinacridone red. did a little testing today. look at the pinks created with raw sienna, too.
went for a lovely drive in the country and found this wonderful old barn. wish i could do this everyday, i felt like me there. think the painting needs a little finishing, but am happy enough with it. 9x12" oil on masonite.
no rain today, actually got out to paint. this little adobe has been catching my eye when dropping my son off at school. about 2 hours, premixed my colors from lemon yellow, napthol red, ult blue, raw sienna and white. the panel was pretoned lite beige. 9x12" oil on masonite.
yes, it's true, REAL LIFE is intruding on my creative time! here's a woodcarving done a few years ago. looking at this makes me want to clear off my bench and carve! arghhh, so many interests, so little time!!!
an actual painting i actually did today. needs adjustments, and some might call this 70's trite, but you know what? i like it! (and i'm the one to please!) 10x20" oil on stretched linen.
been avoiding these, lost my best liner brush, and ran out of the medium i like to use for fluid lines. too broke and busy to shop. don't know if faking it is gonna work...
a wonderful day for painting 'en plein air'. the salinas river is wet for the time being...this view is from cemetary drive. 9x12" oil on pintura canvas panel. this is the lay-in, and i'm quite happy with it so far.
