wipe off trees
fun with paint, not a keeper! i used some pine needles as a brush for the small branches. 11x14" oil on masonite. wiped it off when finished so now i have a nice toned panel for another day.

busy today
i fiddled with the apple/spoon painting on the advice of some artists forum friends, matt and I got haircuts!!! (its been awhile), i worked on my website. still need to clean my palette and set up a new still life and just haven't time to start on it 2day.
so here's the final (really) apples and a spoon painting. don't know if you can see much difference, i improved the roundness of the red apple, and resolved the spoon a little more. i think it's working better.

old pals tonal study
old trucks that live off a busy, narrow highway. i risked life and limb to get the photos, no way i could paint them from life.
8"x10" oil on yupo
i am trying to upgrade my website, my own domain and some other enhancements. but it's not going well, never had problems b4 the upgrade, so i may cancel. customer service response is s l o w.
well it seems to be fine now, so i did most of the upgrade. still some tweaking to do, but i'm satisfied for 2day. hey, i discovered how to make tan and beige tones for the web.

palette color chart
not much painting time 2day, decided to work on a color chart. this is the palette recommended by artist ken backhaus, i've been using it lately and am surprised at the color range achieved thru this limited, but versatile, palette. i've discovered that mixing paint is dynamic, a little of this and a smidge of that color you used for something else brings a harmony to a painting, even if the color itself may not be exact. it's like better than exact. hurrah! the chart is incomplete, but ran out of time.
